My 1969 Chrysler has oddball 2.75 inch brake drums up front. Most newports apparently had 3 inch units. I’m trying to find replacement brake shoes for the front and I can’t find any!
If you can somehow find a set of 2.75 inch shoes or know of a shop that can re-shoe them please let me know!
I suppose upgrading to the 3” drums is possible but I'd like to save money if I can.

Rockauto has them listed for a 66 at 11” x 2.75
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/morein…
Steep price at 38 bucks plus shipping/axle, but cheaper than a conversion
Nice fins

Wagner PAB337.
On close-out at Rock Auto. $11.50.
You might want to replace all the springs, etc while you are in there too.

I’m working on that front. But the old-school machine shops are getting harder to find.

Awesome! Thanks! I just did the wheel cylinder, should I really do the springs too?

I guess it depends on how shitty they are and if they look original. I’d change them anyway since they have to come off and are only a few bucks.

Although crowmolly has better rockauto-fu than I do on the pricing :)

I could but that’s more money than I’d like to spend.

I never put 2 and 2 together. Someone told me once they were at a C+C and people couldn’t keep 505’s name out they mouth. But kept pronouncing it tur-box.
At least you know - and don’t think the reference is lost on me :)

Canadian NAPA just said they couldn’t get it to me and that they were out of stock. Sometimes being north of the border is such a pain. Maybe I could pick them up at a New York location.

Lame. My store could UPS a set up in a few days, and there’s an overnight option. Silly border does wreak havoc on parts sometimes though.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to upgrade to discs.

Except that’s a of money to spend on an old car. Drums work fine and have worked fine for the past year. Discs would be nice but I don’t exactly drive it aggressively and I hardly even take it on the highway.
